What is FTC?
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a program in which students from grades 7-12 compete head-to-head in groups of up to 15 members. Students have to design, build, and code a robot to compete in challenges in an alliance format.Â
Guided by coaches, mentors, and teammates, students learn STEM skills as well as general skills used in day-to-day life. Students learn about engineering, as well as coding and different coding languages. They apply real-world math and science concepts and develop problem-solving, collaboration, and team-building skills. They learn to think like engineers and understand that with hard work and passion, they can accomplish anything.
FTC is an amazing opportunity to learn and develop interests in the sciences, engineering, math, and technology, as well as learning skills useful in years to come. FTC is a great program that EVERY kid should do regardless of age, gender, or skill level.
